The fifth-generation Ram 1500 debuted in 2019 and represented a major step forward from its predecessor. With a new design, cutting-edge tech and higher starting price, it went upmarket, leaving some customers wanting for a more affordable variant. Ram delivered in under the name of “1500 Classic”, and will be updating it next year.

The 2022 Ram 1500 Classic is a facelift of the previous – fourth – generation of the pickup. It will get the Tradesman Off-Road package, which adds heavy-duty rear shocks, towing hooks, front suspension plate guards, transfer case protection, all-terrain tires, high ground clearance, and more.

Customers will be able to buy the refreshed pickup in Tradesman, Express, SLT and Warlock trims. All the cab types (Regular, Quad Cab and Crew Cab) and drive types (2WD and 4WD) will remain available. Inside, the main novelty will come in the form of a Uconnect 5 infotainment system with an 8.4-inch display and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity.
