Bentley won’t release any new variants of the Continental GT to sit above the new Speed model and will instead turn its attention to the development of hybrid models. Details about a future hybrid version of the Bentley Continental GT are limited but it could borrow its powertrain from the Bentayga Hybrid Flying Spur Hybrid models. This system consists of a 3.0-liter V6 with 335 hp and an electric motor adding 126 hp, making for a combined 443 hp. It is also possible that Bentley could adopt a similar hybrid V8 to that used by the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid thanks to its presence within the VW Group. A hybrid system to rival that of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63e is also possible.
Given the automaker’s increased investment into electrified powertrains, it would appear unlikely that successors to the likes of the Bentley Continental GT Supersport or GT3-R will be produced. Bentley is working towards launching its first all-electric model in 2025. It will then switch to a fully electric vehicle line-up in 2030. Details about the brand’s first electric model haven’t been confirmed but some speculate it will take the form of a high-riding sedan.
