Mazda has updated the CX-30 and Mazda3 in Australia with additional features, but more importantly, a new engine. The highlight is the availability of the same e-SkyActive-G powertrain as the mild-hybrid version of the MX-30. This powertrain features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder coupled to a 24-volt hybrid system with a belt-driven integrated starter generator. It produces 153 hp at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm and is coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission.
This new powertrain will be offered in the G20e Evolve M Hybrid trim levels of the Mazda3 and CX-30. Other key features of the Mazda3 and CX-30 G20e Evolve M Hybrid models include the Vision Technology safety suite, advanced keyless entry, auto dimming mirrors, and 10-way adjustable powered driver’s seat with two position memory. The other engines on offer are a 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with all-wheel drive.
Elsewhere, Mazda Australia has announced a new SP Vision Technology grade for the G20, G25, and G25 variants that uses the automaker’s advanced i-Activsense features. It also includes unique interior and exterior highlights.
The Mazda3’s popular G25 Evolve trim has now morphed into the G25 Evolve SP that brings new black wing mirrors, black 18-inch alloy wheels, a black grille, and black cloth seats with red accents. A new shade of Platinum Quartz has also been added to the range.
