We’re less than a week away from the unveiling of the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the company is marking the occasion with a very specific teaser. Released exactly 8,600 minutes before the debut, the latest teaser is a nod to the redline of the 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 engine. Chevrolet further reinforced this by providing a glimpse of the digital instrument cluster, which shows a redline well in excess of the 6,500 rpm mark found in the standard model.
Sticking with the interior, the video
suggests the Corvette Z06 will come with a carbon fiber steering wheel and
heavily bolstered sport seats. We can also see two-tone upholstery as well as a
Bose premium audio system. Since Chevrolet unveiled the exterior last month,
there isn’t much to see other than the center-mounted four-tailpipe exhaust
system. However, the Corvette Z06 Convertible makes a brief appearance towards
the end of the clip as its reflection is shown in a window.
We’ll learn full details next week, but
the engine is expected to have an output of around 617 hp and 651 Nm of torque. That’s quite a bit less than the old supercharged
6.2-liter V8, which developed 650 hp and 881 Nm of torque, but it’s still a sizeable improvement over the standard model that
has up to 495 hp and 637 Nm of torque.
The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will be
unveiled on October 26th at 12 p.m. ET and be introduced via a 30-minute film
starring Devin Booker and Emelia Hartford. Immediately following the “Putting
the World on Notice” video, Chevrolet will be hosting a panel discussion that
explores how the Z06 “provides an unparalleled driver experience.”
