Ibiza is a Spanish island known for its nightlife – especially in the summer. Inspired by this, SEAT converted the recently facelifted Ibiza into a nightclub, with the addition of lights, DJ decks, and even a mocktail bar! The one-off was created with the help of DJ Woody Cook who joined the “opening night” of the car together with his friends. Turning a supermini into “the world’s smallest Ibiza nightclub” doesn’t sound like a great idea but thankfully the Ibiza together with its VW Polo sibling are two of the roomiest in the segment.
Weirdly, the conversion didn’t include a
custom sound system. Instead, SEAT thought that the 300-watt seven-speaker
Beats Audio system operating through the 9.2-inch infotainment screen was good
enough for the job. In order to allow more freedom for the DJ, a USB-powered
mixing deck was added to the dashboard.
Other modifications include plenty of LEDs
and strobe lights in the cabin, working together with the ambient lighting.
Those lights wouldn’t be safe during driving but since the Ibiza Nightclub is
stationary during operation, they seem to create a party-like atmosphere. At
the same time, when the party is over the mobile nightclub can be driven
anywhere.
Finally, there couldn’t be a nightclub
without drinks so SEAT converted the 355-liter boot into a mocktail bar. The
only downside is that the guests need to get off the car in order to use it but
it is a small price to pay for a fresh non-alcohol drink. Obviously, the SEAT
Ibiza Nightclub is a marketing stunt and it will remain a one-off. For the
video, the Spanish company added a red carpet for the guests to form a queue
and show their tickets. Sales of the SEAT Ibiza have already started in the UK,
with a base price of £ 16,790 (US$ 23,115).
