Deliveries of the 2023 Nissan Z are supposedly right around the corner, and as the official date nears, we’ve been seeing more and more of the sports car out and about in public with less and less camouflage. The latest sighting comes from the New Nissan Z Forum, and it’s quite possibly the first time we’re seeing it actually driving without any camo. The car was spotted on the streets of Phoenix, Arizona in a subtle shade of Gun Metallic, complemented by a set of black wheels framing red brake calipers. But despite the Z’s daringly simplistic retro design, it actually manages to fit in quite well with the likes of regular traffic. That being said, just because it fits in doesn’t mean it’s invisible, as even in grey the car actually has quite a bit of presence compared to run-of-the-mill vehicles around it in the photos.
As for personalization options for the new
Z, the list of paint colors will include Black Diamond Metallic, Everest White
Pearl Tricoat, Brilliant Silver, Boulder Grey, Seiran Blue, Ikazuchi Yellow,
Passion Red Tricoat, and Rosewood Metallic. For the interior, there hasn’t been
any official information provided yet, but based on what we’ve seen so far,
options at the moment appear to be limited to just blue with black accents and
black with yellow accents, although we’re almost certain some more muted
options (as well as possibly other colors like red) will be revealed down the
line.
Powering the Z will be Nissan’s
tried-and-tested VR30DDTT, a 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 that we’ve seen used in
cars like the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400. And as the name of that car would
suggest, the engine will put out 400 hp and 475
Nm of torque to the Z’s rear wheels via either a 9-speed automatic or 6-speed
manual transmission. The 2023 Nissan Z is expected to launch by mid-2022 and
pricing is expected to start around the UA$ 40,000 dollar range.
