German company TechArt is known for offering a comprehensive range of tuning options for Porsches. Their latest project still has to do with a Porsche, namely the 911, but in a different way, since we’re talking about a police car created in collaboration with the initiative “TUNE IT! SAFE!”. The Techart Cabriolet is based on the 911 Targa 4 of the latest 992 generation. Besides the eye-catching “Polizei” livery combining blue, yellow, and silver colors with reflective stickers, this unique Porsche is equipped with a roof-mounted police light, and extra LED lights on the carbon-fiber bonnet.

The car is also fitted with Techar’ts Aerokit which includes a front splitter, airframes, side skirts, rear diffuser, and a rather discreet rear spoiler. A set of Techart Formula V multi-spoke wheels painted in black with contrasting yellow accents complete the visual updates alongside the Techart logos that have replaced the original Porsche lettering.

In terms of mechanical upgrades, Techart didn’t mention any changes on the twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six engine which in the stock 911 Targa 4 produces 380 hp and 450 Nm of torque. They did however add a new set of Sport Springs, lowering the ride height by 40 mm For greater driving dynamics.

Inside, the 911 is fitted with Techart’s handcrafted sports steering wheel, which features perforated leather upholstery with a chequered flag pattern. The same material has been used for the armrests, doors, center console, and parts of the back seat, reminding everyone that this car is on duty. There is also an extra control panel on the center console for operating the lights and the siren.

The “TUNE IT! SAFE!” initiative supported by the German Association of Automobile Tuners (VDAT) was launched in 2005 under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMVI) with the goal of taking action against illegal and unsafe tuning. The Techart Porsche 911 Targa 4 will be exhibited from November 26 until December 5 at the Essen Motor Show in Germany.
