The 2022 Ford Expedition Timberline will reportedly hit the market with a starting price of US$ 68,150, or US$ 69,845 when factoring in a US$ 1,695 delivery and destination fee. Ford unveiled the 2022 Expedition back in September and confirmed that it would also be available in off-road-focused Timberline guise. Official pricing details haven’t been announced yet but Ford Authority claims it will start at US$ 68,150. That would make it slightly more expensive than the 2022 Expedition Limited 4×4 that starts at US$ 66,780 excluding destination.
The Expedition Timberline sports a number
of unique features to distinguish it from other variants. Most notably, the
exterior comes equipped with a distinctive front grille, Active Orange accents,
underbody shielding, skid plates, and black wheels wrapped in 33-inch Goodyear
Wrangler A/T tires. Ford has also boosted the ground clearance to 10.6 inches,
0.6 inches more than the ground clearance of the new Jeep Wagoneer.
Other off-road upgrades made to the
Expedition Timerbline include a two-speed transfer case and the same Trail Turn
Assist feature as the Bronco which locks the inside rear wheel to reduce the
vehicle’s turning circle. Powering the Expedition Timberline is the flagship
3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 with 440 hp and 691 Nm of torque.
This engine is shared with the street-focused Expedition Stealth Edition
Performance Package and sits above the 380 hp and 637 Nm engine of
lesser Expedition models.
Ford will build the new Expedition at its
Kentucky Truck Plant and it is slated to land in showrooms in early 2022.
