The wait is almost over as Ford has announced the highly-anticipated Bronco Raptor will be unveiled on January 24th at 6 AM EST. Ford isn’t saying much about the model at this point, but they released a new teaser image and confirmed the SUV will arrive at U.S. dealerships this summer. While there isn’t much to see in the latest teaser, previous pictures have revealed the model will have a unique mesh grille with “FORD” lettering. It will reside above a heavy duty steel front bumper with integrated recovery points.
Other notable highlights will include
extended fender flares, which help to cover massive 37-inch off-road tires. The
model will also have a unique suspension and a dual exhaust system, but we’ll
presumably learn more about those next week.
While there has been plenty of speculation
about what will power the Bronco Raptor, the latest reports suggest it could
use the same twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 as the F-150 Raptor. In the
truck, it produces 450 hp and 691 Nm of torque.
It remains unclear if that output would
carryover but, if it does, it would be a huge improvement over the Bronco’s
optional 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 which develops up to 330 hp and 562 Nm of torque. Of course, even if the output is the same as
the F-150 Raptor, it wouldn’t be enough to topple the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392
which has a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 pumping out 470 hp.
