Images of a special edition Corvette celebrating the 70th anniversary of the famed sports car have leaked online. The photos, or rather digital images, reportedly come from Chevrolet’s official visualizer and show two color options for the celebratory model. Although the visualizer page with the model has since gone down, making this difficult to verify, the images were posted to both CorvetteBlogger and Midenginecorvetteforum, both citing a user named Jeremy as being the one who configured the car and shared the pictures.
Per the poster, the car will be offered in
White Pearl Metallic Tri-coat with optional Satin Matrix Gray Stripes or in
Carbon Flash Metallic with optional Satin Black Metallic Stripes. It will also
get Edge red brake calipers and Carbon flash wheels with an Edge Red Stripe,
all of which is highly reminiscent of the 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Centennial Edition that celebrated the automaker’s 100th anniversary.
The 70th Anniversary Edition Z06 will also
get exterior badging and wheel center caps that mark out the occasion, as well
as Carbon Flash mirrors and spoilers. An Edge Red engine cover, a rear bumper
protector/trunk cover, and a custom luggage set with red stitching and the 70th
Anniversary logo are also offered.
Inside, the Corvette gets Ceramic GT2
seats with red stitching or optional competition sports seats. To round out the
look, it also gets red seat belts, a suede interior steering wheel, and 70th
Anniversary logos on the seats, the steering wheel, and the sill plates.

If this is the genuine article, this Z06
follows in the grand tradition of anniversary Corvettes, as Chevrolet has
celebrated the car’s 25th, 50th, and 60th anniversaries with special edition
models. The automaker is set to begin production of the high-performance Z06 on
May 9, 2022, and dealers should be able to begin entering orders for the 2023
model as early as March 24, Muscle Cars & Trucks reports. That suggests
that Chevrolet could be ready to unveil the 70th Anniversary Edition model
officially quite soon.
