Porsche introduced the 2022 Cayenne Platinum Edition earlier this month, but we’re more interested in the facelifted variant which was recently spied undergoing cold weather testing. Spotted virtually undisguised, the 2023 Cayenne is instantly recognizable and follows the company’s tradition of barely noticeable facelifts.
While the changes don’t immediately jump out, a closer
inspection reveals the crossover has been equipped with a lightly revised front
end that features new headlights as well as sportier air intakes. The 2023
Cayenne also adopts a revised front bumper and split daytime running lights.
Bigger changes occur out back as the 2023 Cayenne has been
equipped with a new bumper and liftgate. This is immediately apparent as the
license plate has been moved from the liftgate to the bumper. Despite that
notable change, the rear end is still familiar as we can see a diffuser and
dual exhaust system that appears to carryover. That being said, we can expect
updated taillights and a modified light bar.
Spy photographers didn’t snap interior pictures this time
around, but previous photos have shown the Cayenne will be equipped with a
digital instrument cluster and a new infotainment system. Drivers will also
find a new steering wheel as well as a revised center console with updated
switchgear and a minimalist shifter.
Engine options remain the biggest mystery, but choices will
presumably carryover. While there could be some updates for improved
performance, the current Cayenne offers an assortment of options ranging from a
335 hp turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 to a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8
developing 541 hp. Porsche also offers a handful of plug-in
hybrids including a Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, which has a combined output of
670 hp.
