Aston Martin hits back with another hint on the upcoming hotter variant of the DBX SUV that could bear the “S” suffice. The dark photo displays the profile of the new model that’s dubbed “the world’s most powerful luxury SUV”, showing its redesigned bodykit.

The DBX gets a new set of large-diameter wheels with five double spokes shod in low profile tires, a new front bumper with different intakes and DRLs, a sharp-looking splitter, a slightly larger rear spoiler, and a more pronounced rear bumper with what looks like a diffuser. While we can’t see much from this angle, we also expect a larger grille and quad tailpipes as suggested by the camouflaged prototypes spotted during development.

While Aston Martin made it clear that the upcoming variant will offer more power than the stock DBX that is fitted with an AMG-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 producing 542 hp, it hasn’t provided any details. The twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12 that produces 715 hp in the DBS Superleggera would easily make the DBX “the world’s most powerful luxury SUV,” but this title can also be achieved by a more powerful version of the V8. Judging from the sound in the previous teaser, a tuned V8 is most likely the case.

The only competitors of the upcoming DBS with 12 cylinders under the bonnet are the Bentley Bentayga Speed with 626 hp, and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge with 592 hp. The V8 league includes the Lamborghini Urus with 641 hp and the Maserati Levante Trofeo with 582 HP. We will have more information about the new version of the DBX in its official debut that is scheduled for February 1, 2022, unless the British automaker decides to share some of its secrets in an upcoming teaser.
