Chinese carmaker Chery has unveiled the Jetour T-X, a body-on-frame SUV that manages to resemble the new Ford Bronco, the Land Rover Defender and the Great Wall Tank 300 all at once.
The off-roader comes with an elaborate
front bumper design, large side mirrors, a drone landing pad on the roof, LED
headlights and a backlit front grille. The interior has not been shown yet.
Judging by the positions of the door handles, the rear doors may be
rear-hinged.
Equipment-wise, the company promises a
robust frame, AWD, a lockable inter-axle differential, and an adaptive
suspension system. A petrol-electric hybrid will be available with claimed fuel
consumption as low as 1 liter per 100 kilometers (235 MPG) and up to 1,000
kilometers of range. The Kungpeng platform the vehicle is based
upon lends itself to nearly all powertrain designs imaginable, ranging from ICE
and hybrid to all-electric and hydrogen.
Sales start next year. The Jetour
sub-brand currently only has two crossover SUVs on its lineup, the X70 and the
X90. The latter received a facelift last fall and gained a third
engine option with 254 PS.
