Besides the Prombron Black Alligator MMXX, Dartz also announced a second model. The Prombron Royal Cypher will be the first proper EV after the FreZe, which admittedly was “just a rebadged and reassembled tiny car” without the “state-of-Dartz-art touch”. The Royal Cypher is named after royalty and a Sikorsky helicopter. The model will be a large SUV with a design following “Dartz cubism traditions“. At this point, we don’t have any hints of the exterior design but Dartz will soon publish official sketches.
Environmentalism is not the strongest
point of the Latvian coachbuilder, which will keep using skin from alligators,
sharks, stingrays, and other wild animals, plus any other “green skins which
are available on the market”. While other companies choose manmade leather,
recycled bottles, and other sustainable materials for the interior of their
EVs, Dartz said “we have to respect our clients” offering materials from banana
leaves or coffee leather instead. They also decided not to add huge screens
that would drain the battery, and voted against roof-mounted solar panels since
their only purpose is to “raise more funds from investors”.
The Dartz Prombron Royal Cypher will be
based on the GMC Hummer EV platform but Dartz could also use a Mercedes EQ
architecture, or any other under specific request as long as they can get
“capitalist profit” while “not breaking hard our principles”.
