Chinese startup company Ziyoujia Motors has debuted with its first production car, a large off-roader called the Niutron NV. It comes based on an original platform that supports both full EVs and serial hybrids. The chassis makes use of aluminum alloy and other light alloys. The car is 4,915 mm long, 1,950 mm wide and 1,750 mm tall with 2,900 mm of wheelbase.

The powertrain consists of Gemini modules that are identical between BEV and hybrid, which should help cut production costs. As for the specifications, the company says the part-electric SUV makes it to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds without providing any further data.

In terms of appearance, the Nuitron NV sports a nearly level hood and a nearly vertical front end. Its round headlights resemble classic designs, and the way they look next to the radiator grille puts us in mind of the Ford Bronco Sport. The roof is quasi-hovering, the c-pillars are broad and sport silver overlays, the sides are sculpted with a wavy relief, and the door handles pop out like on Tesla cars.

Ziyoujia Motors promises to reveal the cabin and the detailed specifications closer to the sales launch, which will take place later in the first quarter of 2022.
