The 2022 Wagon R has been spotted while Maruti was busy shooting its new television commercial and, surprise surprise, the car looks exactly the same. Apart from a blacked roof and new alloy wheels which are also black in colour, people would be hard-pressed to find differences between the recently spotted 2022 Wagon R and the 2021 model.
While the car is expected to
come with new colour options for 2022, inside, it should feature new upholstery
and an updated equipment list. For example, the SmartPlay infotainment system
is expected to run on the latest Pro+ version.nIn addition, the hatchback could
also come with idle start-stop along with hill hold assist for the top AMT
grades. Speaking of gearboxes, the 5-speed manual will continue to be the
mainstay.
In terms of engine options,
the 2022 Wagon R is expected to retain the 1.2-litre petrol engine, but the
earlier K10B 1.0-litre motor should make way for the K10C unit with the same
capacity that debuted with the new Celerio. A factory-fitted CNG option will be
available with the smaller engine, while there is no word whether the
comparatively larger motor will also be offered with a CNG kit.
Maruti is expected to launch
the 2022 Wagon R soon and it should cost similar to the 2021 model currently
priced between Rs. 5.18 lakhs and Rs. 6.58 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
