The Porsche Cayenne Coupe has been caught testing again and these photos are as revealing for what they hide as they are for what they reveal. We’ve seen the Turbo GT version of the Cayenne Coupe testing before sporting taillights that look more or less like the current model’s. Now, though, a lower-performance model has been caught on the streets and Porsche has seen fit to hide its taillights under bright red camouflage, suggesting that, like the standard Cayenne, these will be updated with the upcoming refresh.
Elsewhere, it seems that the Cayenne
Coupe’s rear bumper will be updated slightly. Around the front, meanwhile, we
expect many of the same changes that have been seen in other spy pictures. That
means a big grille that contains new lighting elements, likely turn signals,
separate from the main headlight assembly.
Bigger changes are expected inside, where spy photographers have previously spotted an updated infotainment system,
digital dials, a new gear shifter inspired by the 911’s, and a fully digital
instrument cluster. Much is left to learn about what’s going on under the hood
of the vehicle, but reports suggest that the Cayenne’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8
will be updated to make 631 hp and 850 Nm of
torque. That’s a significant increase of 89 hp and 80
Nm over the current Cayenne Turbo and is also quite close to the Cayenne Turbo
S E-Hybrid.
Information about the SUV’s other
drivetrains remains scant but we are expecting Porsche to unveil the updated
car later this year. It should go on sale as an MY2023 vehicle.
