Cupra is celebrating its fourth anniversary today with the announcement of its 2022 plans called “Cupra x 2”. The automaker will introduce two new models, aiming to double its sales, turnover, and global network in 2022. Cupra also announced the “Metahype” space in the metaverse and a new “Cupra2” racing experience that combines the real and virtual worlds.
Starting with the new models,
the fully electric Cupra Tavascan will arrive in 2024, followed by the
production version of the UrbanRebel concept in 2025. Both of them are expected
to be based on different versions of the MEB platform, with the Tavascan being
a sibling to the VW ID.4 and the UrbanRebel being closely related to the
upcoming VW ID.2. Those will join the new Cupra Born in the automaker’s EV
range, and the existing ICE-powered Leon, Ateca, and Formentor.
The company will be doubling
its network of Cupra Specialists and Cupra City Garages this year, in a quest
to reach more prospective customers and double its sales figures in 2022.
