Jeep has joined the ranks of automakers releasing branded, two-wheeled electric vehicles to its mobility lineup. The go-anywhere automaker today unveiled the RX200 electric scooter made by Razor. Since it’s a Jeep, it has to be able to handle more than a sidewalk and has thusly been fitted with eight-inch, air-filled tires that are perfect for off-road terrain. A high-torque, 200-watt motor is powered by a 24-volt battery system that allows the scooter to get up to a top speed of 19 km/h and provides 40 minutes of ride time per charge.
The Jeep RX200 features a wide,
comfortable standing platform and riser-style handlebars. A mark on the side
also proudly denotes that, like other Jeep branded vehicles, it has been “Trail
Rated.” Finished in army green, it gets a white star, a Jeep decal and badge,
as well as big headlights in case you’re riding at night. Like many larger Jeep
vehicles, the standing platform is also finished with a topographic-style tread
plate.
The scooter is recommended for riders who
are 18 years of age or older. Those interested can order the Jeep RX200 at
Razor.com for US$ 499.
