When Cadillac unveiled the 2023 Escalade-V in January, the company only released a handful of pictures and details. The brand is now promising to fill in the missing pieces on May 11th as the Escalade-V will be given a full reveal. As a result, we’ll learn about specifications and availability in less than two months. While the company is keeping details under wraps, they noted the SUV is the “ultimate expression of Cadillac design, performance and technology, and the purest expression of the passion that exists at the core of the Cadillac brand.” They also released a short teaser video made with Maffio, which “interprets the 2023 Cadillac Escalade-V engine roar with his inspired beats.”
Putting that aside, the Escalade-V follows
in the footsteps of the Escalade Sport and Sport Platinum by adopting a mesh
grille and blacked out accents. However, the performance flagship is
distinguished by a sportier front bumper and triangular intakes that are
reminiscent of those found on the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwings. Elsewhere, there
are lightweight wheels that are backed up by a high-performance braking system
with red calipers. The model has also been equipped with a four-tailpipe sports
exhaust system and a new rear bumper with a small diffuser.
Interior changes will likely be minor as
the company has only shown a leather-wrapped steering wheel with V-Series
badging. It will likely be joined by sportier seats and trim as well as a
familiar curved OLED display that consists of a 7.2-inch driver information
center, a 14.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 16.9-inch infotainment
system.
The biggest question remains the
powertrain, but the Escalade-V is expected to use the same supercharged 6.2-liter
V8 as the CT5-V Blackwing. It produces 668 hp and 893 Nm of torque, which would be a massive 248 hp and 270 Nm improvement over the Escalade’s naturally aspirated 6.2-liter
V8.
