Abarth is showing signs of life as Fiat has unveiled the all-new Pulse Abarth in Brazil. Set to go on sale late this year, the performance crossover is based on the value-focused Pulse and marks Abarth’s return to Brazil. Unveiled on Big Brother Brazil, the Pulse Abarth features an aggressive front fascia with a unique mesh grille and vertical air curtains. They’re joined by a sportier front bumper that features a red accent and unique fog lights.
Continuing further back, we can see bodyside
graphics and Abarth badging on the front fenders. The crossover has also been
equipped with gloss black wheels that feature red accents as well as a Scorpion
center cap. Rounding out the highlights is a unique rear bumper with a faux
diffuser. The model also sports prominent Abarth lettering and a dual exhaust
system.
Fiat was coy on specifications, but said
the model will combine performance with provocative steering as well as
technology and innovation. The company added the model was developed in Brazil
and will be built in the country. Additional details will be released in the
coming months, but the standard Pulse features a 1.3-liter Firefly Flex engine
that produces 106 hp and 134 Nm of torque when
running on ethanol. It can be paired to either a five-speed manual or a
continuously variable transmission.
Customers can also upgrade to a
turbocharged 1.0-liter engine, which develops up to 128 hp and 200 Nm of torque. It enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.4 seconds and this enables it to beat out “main rivals in
the category.”
