When Lucid started shipping its luxury electric sedan Air last fall, it started with the US$ 169,000+ Dream Edition spec limited to 520 units. Now that these have been produced, the company revealed what the more affordable options will be.
The Grand Touring spec is already
available starting from US$ 139,000. It packs dual electric motors and makes 830
PS. Sprinting from zero to 97 km/h takes three
seconds. A giant 112-kWh traction battery combined with small 17-inch wheels
grants it up to 755 km of range. Paying extra for aerodynamically
optimized 19-inch wheels increases the range to 830 km.
Another two specs, called Pure and
Touring, will enter production later this year. The Pure will be rear-wheel
driven with an 88-kWh battery, while the Touring will make use of a
dual-motor/AWD setup and a slightly larger 93-kWh battery pack. Prices will
start from US$ 77,400 and US$ 95,000, respectively.
A particularly deluxe version called Grand
Touring Performance will become available until mid-year from US$ 179,000. This
one can sprint 0-97 km/h in 2.6 seconds, reach 270 km/h in
a straight line and deliver up to 1,065 PS to the wheels
from its twin motors. Sports suspension and 21-inch wheels are included as
standard features.
