Despite being revealed back in April 2021 and going on sale in the U.S. in December that same year, many countries in Europe have only recently begun getting details on pricing for the Toyota GR 86, let alone deliveries of the small sports coupe. Spain is the latest of those countries, and their pricing structure for the car revealed something quite interesting.
A report from Periodismo del Motor shows
that the Spanish GR 86 will be getting a special trim called the Circuit Pack
that starts at € 37,900 (US$ 40,685). Like the trim of the same name on the GR
Yaris and GR Corolla, the pack adds various mechanical improvements to the car,
but no extra power. In the case of the GR 86 specifically, it includes Michelin
Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, 18-inch forged wheels with a design unique to the
Circuit Pack, and racing brakes with new calipers and rotors. Additionally, the
report claims this trim for the GR 86 will only be available in the Spanish
market.
There’s also the Touring Pack for € 35,400
(US$ 37,999). This trim includes GR high-friction brake pads, Michelin Pilot Sport
4S tires, and the regular 18-inch wheels. This pack, along with the Touring
Pack, are both reported to be in the realm of dealer-installed accessories,
meaning no matter how you order your GR 86, it will leave the factory and
arrive to the dealership as the base RZ trim. On the topic of the RZ, it starts
at € 32,900 (US$ 35,316) and is offered exclusively with a manual transmission,
cloth seats, and 17-inch wheels on Michelin Primacy tires. All three trims will
be available in the same three colors, namely Ignition Red, Crystal White
Pearl, and Crystal Black Silica, which is four less colors than the U.S.-market
86.
Finally, the report mentions that the
initial allocation of GR 86s for Spain is limited to just 100 units, with only
another 500 on order through 2024, after which production will cease. Order
books will supposedly open in mid to late June, with the first cars set to
begin delivery in July.
