Cadillac has started teasing a new Track Edition package for the CT4-V Blackwing. A new video indicates that the car will be inspired by famed American racetracks. The teaser, shared recently on Instagram, features three models in colors identified by GM Authority as Electric Blue, Rift Metallic, and Maverick Noir Frost. They appear to feature the Carbon Fiber 1 and Carbon Fiber 2 packages.
Cadillac, meanwhile, wrote in an earlier
Instagram post that the cars are “inspired by the energy and victories from
prestigious tracks.” In the description for the more recent video teaser, it
writes that the cars will celebrate Watkins Glen International, a track in
Watkins Glen, New York; Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, in Braselton, Georgia;
and Sebring International Raceway, in Sebring, Florida.
All of the tracks also play host to IMSA
WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races at which Cadillac has had success in
the past. Indeed, as can be seen in the video, the cars feature an “IMSA” logo,
a bit like the one found on the Cadillac CTS-V IMSA Championship Edition model
that was released in 2017.
A track map can also be found in what
appears to be the rear quarter window of one of the vehicles. Specifically, the
map is of Sebring International Raceway and is on the black car. Although it is
not made explicit in the teaser, this may indicate that the color is related to
the track which the car celebrates.
The Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing is powered by
a 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes 472 hp and 603
Nm of torque. That allows it to sprint from 0-96 km/h in just 3.8
seconds and onto a top speed of 304 km/h. There is no indication to
suggest that the Track Edition model will get any more power.
