BMW will sell five examples of the X6 Black Vermillion Edition in Australia, each featuring a host of bespoke components that make it stand out from the regular X6 M50i on which it is based. The first unique touch applied to the X6 Black Vermillion Edition is the BMW Individual Frozen Black metallic paint finish. The SUV has then been outfitted with BMW’s customary kidney grille, albeit one that is finished in Shadow Line high gloss and features grille slats in high gloss red. The kidney grille also features BMW’s ‘Iconic Glow’ illumination.
Found in the cabin are a number of
distinctive features. For starters, the luxurious SUV has a full Merino leather
interior finished in black and red contrast stitching across the front row. It
also sports a panoramic glass roof, Alcantara headliner, Active Seat
Ventilation, Comfort Seats, velour floor mats with an Anthracite finish and red
bindings, Fineline Black surfaces with aluminum inserts, and an ‘Edition Black
Vermillion’ badge on the center console cover.
As the X6 Black Vermillion Edition is
based on the M50i, it features the same powertrain. This consists of a
4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 pumping out 530 hp and 750 Nm of torque, sent to all four wheels and allowing the SUV to hit 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
Aussies interested in buying one will need
to place a reservation through BMW’s website and pay a AU$ 5,000 (US$ 3,454)
reservation fee. The exclusive SUV has a drive-away price of AU$ 208,900
(US$ 144,325), making it approximately AU$ 20,000 (US$ 13,817) more expensive than a
standard X6 M50i.
