Ford is set to unveil the seventh-generation Mustang at the North American International Auto Show next month, but the company hasn’t forgotten about the current model as they’ve introduced a new Nite Pony package for both the Mustang and Mustang Mach-E. The name of the package was crowd-sourced on social media and the company received nearly 29,000 suggestions in total. In the end, Nite Pony beat out fellow finalists Alastor, Shadowmare, and Shadow Stallion.

Putting the names aside, the Nite Pony package adds a black roof, a black grille, and 19-inch black wheels to the Mustang coupe. They’re joined by black badging, a black spoiler, and black mirror caps. The Nite Pony package for the 2023 Mustang Mach-E is slightly different as the Extended Range Premium gets 19-inch black wheels, while the GT Performance Edition rides on larger 20-inch units. Buyers will also find black cladding, black fascia accents, and black mirror caps.

Besides announcing the Nite Pony packages, Ford showed off a 2024 Mustang prototype and announced plans for “The Stampede.” The latter is billed as a “homecoming for Mustangs from across the country” as The Stampede will see Mustang owners descend on Ford World Headquarters on September 14th.  They’ll then travel down to Hart Plaza in Detroit to watch the unveiling of the seventh-generation Mustang at 8 pm that evening.

Ford has also teamed up with America’s Automotive Trust and the Detroit Auto Show  for a “cross-country adventure with all six generations of Mustangs” called The Drive Home.  This event kicks off on September 6th at America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington and crosses nine states with more than a dozen stops along the way.  It ends at Ford World Headquarters on September 14th as the event effectively transforms into The Stampede.
