Patent filings submitted to the Ministry of Industry and IT of China reveal the new GAC GN8 minivan heading into production with two giant radiator grille designs to choose from. It looks like the company will mainly advertise the grille with massive vertical bars, which surpasses that of Lexus in term of sheer aggression. The other option looks tamer with its slim horizontal bars.

Elsewhere, the next-gen GN8 model is 63 mm longer, 9 mm wider and 1 mm taller than the previous generation with 70 mm of added wheelbase. It weighs less than its predecessor and has vertical taillights with a connecting LED strip between them.

The cabin remains to be revealed, but we already know what engines the new GAC GN8 will ship with. According to the patent application, the minivan will be available in a 2.0-liter petrol turbo version with an 8-speed A/T and 252 PS at its disposal. As an alternative, you can get a hybrid version with a 2.0-liter IC engine and a single electric motor joining efforts for around the same amount of power.
