Mercedes-Benz may present us with the updated G-Class as soon as in early 2023, Auto Express believes referencing these spy photos of what looks like a production SUV. The car has its front and rear ends wrapped in camo, but you can still see that the exterior largely remains the same. There’s the old radiator grille with vertical bars and the same headlamps, for example. It looks like only subtle tweaks are planned, like reshaped air intakes in the front bumper.
The interior can also be expected to
remain stock, Auto Express says. It is unlikely that Mercedes-Benz will go
through the pain of redesigning the entire front panel to accommodate a large
vertical display there, like many of the more recent models do. However, the
new G-Class should receive an infotainment software upgrade with new features
and a plethora of other, smaller improvements.
The same pretty much applies to the engine
lineup. The current version ships with gasoline engines rated between 422 and
585 metric horsepower and diesels rated between 249 and 330 PS; the facelift
will hardly change anything.
