In the latest round of motorcycle spy pics that have surfaced on the internet, the 2023 Hero Hunk has been spotted testing. The interesting bit is that unlike other test mules that are usually wrapped in camouflage tape/colour to hide their identities and bodywork, the test Hero Hunk is sans any.
Close inspection of the test bike suggests
that the 2023 Hunk is nothing but a rebadged Hero Xtreme 200R, which, by the
way, was discontinued a couple of years ago. The clear ‘Hunk’ badge on the tank
extensions as well as the paint graphics seem to be the only visual
differentiator between this bike and the Xtreme 200R. Whether it is the
headlight cowl, fuel tank, tail section or even the wheels, they appear to be
the same as on the Xtreme 200R.
Similarly, the chassis and suspension
components are also likely to be the same as the Xtreme 200R. What is a grey
area, however, is details about the engine. Since the picture is quite grainy,
it is difficult to decipher whether it is powered by the Xtreme 200’s engine or
the Xtreme 160R’s engine. If it is the latter, chances are that Hero may pit
the 2023 Hunk against the ageing Honda Unicorn, the Yamaha FZ and the newly
launched Bajaj Pulsar P150.
