The Mercedes-Benz EQE has just been announced for the Australian market where it went on sale on January 17 from AU$ 134,900. Three variants of the all-electric EQE have been released for the local market. Found at the base of the range is the EQE 300 (AU$ 134,900 / US$ 94,282) which comes equipped with an 89 kWh battery pack and a rear electric motor making 180 kW (241 hp) and 550 Nm of torque.
Mercedes-Benz says the EQE 300 can travel
626 km on the NEDC cycle and accelerate to 100 km/h in 7.3
seconds. A plethora of safety features are standard on the EQE 300, including
the Driving Assistance Package Plus which includes Active Distance Assist
Distronic, Active Brake Assist with cross-traffic function, Active Lane Change
Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Evasive Steering
Assist and Route Based Speed Adaptation.
Sitting in the middle of the range is the
EQE 350 4MATIC. It too sports an 89 kWh battery pack but has electric motors at
both the front and rear, combining to produce 215 kW (288 hp) and 765 Nm of torque. This variant can hit 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and travel 590
km on a single charge. Prices for the EQE 350 4MATIC start at
AU$ 154,900 (US$ 108,620). Last but not least is the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+.
It is rocking a pair of electric motors with 460 kW (617 hp) and 950 Nm of torque, allowing it to hit 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and travel 500 km on a charge. Pricing kicks off from AU$ 214,900 (US$ 150,194).
Beyond getting a healthy dose of extra
power, the EQE 53 4MATIC+ also features Airmatic air suspension, rear-axle
steering, a Mercedes-AMG exterior package with red brake calipers, a
Mercedes-AMG interior with various Nappa leather parts, and the Guard 360°
Vehicle Protection PLUS package with collision detection, stolen vehicle
assistance, and emergency key deactivation.
