The Tokyo Auto Salon is the perfect excuse for automakers to spice up their offerings and this is exactly what Mitsubishi did focusing on the adventurous side of things. This year’s nine-member lineup includes several kei cars (Delica Mini, eK Cross and Minicab Mieve), SUVs (Eclipse Cross, Outlander), minivans (Delica D:5) and even pickups (Triton). Starting with the Mitsubishi Delica Mini which is the newest member of the range, the automaker will showcase the production model fitted with a number of genuine accessories (decals, all-weather floor mats, 9-inch navigation), next to the Coleman and Snow Survivor one-offs.
The Mitsubishi Delica Mini x Coleman was
created in collaboration with the outdoor brand, sporting a “greige” livery, a
roof rack, grippier tires, and mud flaps. The Snow Survivor’s livery is
inspired by mountains, combined with a bull bar, a larger roof rack, and black
beadlock-style wheels shod in Toyo Tires Open Country all/terrain rubber. Both
models benefit from a bed kit and extra storage compartments inside the cabin,
making them a fitting companion on camping trips. A Snow Survivor concept based
on the regular Mitsubishi Delica D:5 will keep company to its smaller-sized
stablemate featuring a matching livery and similar upgrades.
Moving further up the lineup, the Japanese
automaker will showcase two “Black Edition Premium” vehicles based on the
Outlander and the Eclipse Cross SUVs. Both of them are painted in a titanium
gray metallic shade combined with black accents and black alloy wheels, while
they benefit from a roof basket for extra practicality.
Back to the kei car segment, the
Mitsubishi eK Cross EV Smooth x Tough is a SUVified version of the electric
model, upgraded with all-terrain tires, a matte gray metallic shade, a roof
rack with integrated LEDs, a rear ladder, and a bull bar that protects the
front bumper.
Interestingly, there is a second kei car
with a zero-emission powertrain – the Mitsubishi Minicab Mieve B-Leisure Style
II. This is a follow-up to last year’s concept, featuring a reverse edition of
its military-style bi-tone exterior (ivory and moss green) with a number of
decals. The cool part is that it comes equipped with a scooter, a mountain
stream fishing set, and an interior that has been converted to a mobile
workplace thanks to a desk, a chair, a projector, and a bed kit.
Rounding things up for this year’s Tokyo
Auto Salon, Mitsubishi will also bring a replica of the Ralliart-badged Triton
rallycar that won in the Asia Cross Country Rally 2022 last November.
