While there’s been some debate as to whether this is a refresh or a full redesign, the former seems possible as previous pictures have suggested much of the bodywork will carryover. That being said, it appears designers are focusing on the front end as it’s heavily disguised. Details are hard to make out, but we can see stacked headlights that reside beneath slender daytime running units. The grille also appears to have been revamped and, perhaps, enlarged.
The rear end sports a new liftgate with an
evolutionary design as well as a license plate recess that has been moved
higher up. Elsewhere, the shark fin antenna has been moved to the back of the
Expedition where it’s effectively hidden out of the way. We can also expect new
taillights, although their design remains a mystery at this point.
While plenty of questions remain, the 2024
Expedition starts at US$ 56,075 and features a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that produces
380 hp and 637 Nm of torque. Customers can also
get a high-output variant pumping out 440 hp and 691 Nm. Both are connected to a ten-speed automatic transmission, which can
be paired to a four-wheel drive system.
