The Fisker Ocean Extreme has been given an EPA estimated range of 579 km and the company is celebrating the better than expected number by pointing out the crossover has the “longest range of any new electric SUV under US$ 200,000” in the United States. The latter appears to be a reference to the 613 km FF 91, but it’s worth noting the 579 km range only applies to vehicles equipped with 20-inch wheels. As a result, if you opt for the larger 22-inchers, you can likely expect a lower range.
U.S. deliveries will begin the week of
June 19 and the company noted the crossover has received all the necessary
approvals to allow for “sale and delivery in all 50 US states and the District
of Columbia.” This is noteworthy as some EVs are only available in California
and even Genesis EVs aren’t available nationwide. As a refresher, the Ocean
Extreme starts at US$ 68,999 and has a 113 kWh battery pack that powers a dual
motor all-wheel drive system. The latter develops up to 550 hp and this enables the model to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 3.6
seconds.
