The new Fiat 600e has finally been revealed and the 500e’s big sibling will offer more room, more range, and more doors for Fiat customers looking to go electric. Available to order as of July 5, prices for the new crossover start at € 35,950 in Italy (US$ 39,176). For the latest generation of the 600, Fiat has decided to start with the all-electric model, which comes equipped with a 54 kWh battery. This is enough to give the EV a range of 400 km on the WLTP cycle.
In addition, it has a 100 kW charging
system, which helps fill its battery quickly. Fiat claims that the 600e can be
topped up to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes at a fast-charging station. The
new model also comes with an 11 kW on-board charger for slower plugs, which can
fully replenish the battery in less than six hours. Although Fiat says that a
plug-in hybrid version will be made available at a later date, for now the 600e
is offered with just one powertrain, which delivers 154 hp to
the road. That’s enough to get the crossover up to a speed of 100 km/h in a relaxed nine seconds.
While that’s a less than impressive
acceleration figure, the Fiat 600e isn’t really about speed. The EV is more
focused on delivering la Dolce Vita to its customers. To start, it will be
offered in a base model, the do-gooder (600e)RED trim, and the top-of-the-line
La Prima trim. The first one comes with a unique shade of red paint, inspired
by the organization whose mission is to fight AIDS. It is also offered in black
and white, but its interior trim is red no matter what, and it comes with
exclusive recycled fabric seat upholstery.
Meanwhile, the La Prima model offers more
design freedom for aesthetes. Available with just four exterior colors, they
are all inspired by the crossover’s country of origin: Italian Sun Orange,
Italian Sea Green, Italian Land Sand, and Italian Sky Blue. A much wider
variety of colors is offered inside, as Fiat calls this the first compact
vehicle to be offered with “chromotherapy” LED lighting. That means that owners
can choose from between eight accent lighting colors, which can be mixed and
matched in curated combinations to shine in different parts of the cabin. In
all, drivers will be able to chose from 64 different combinations, to find the
one that suits them best.
In addition, the model will be available
with electric adjusting seats that have heating and massaging functions. For
the La Prima model, they are upholstered in Ivory synthetic leather with
turquoise accents. The 2024 Fiat 600e also comes with a selection of USB and
USB-C ports, as well as wireless charging for mobile devices. With the help of
an app on that device, drivers will be able to remotely control features like
the climate control, the horn, the lights, and the locks. To keep them safe on
the road, the 600e is available with features like blind spot monitoring and
automatic emergency braking. It also comes with drowsy driver detection and
adaptive cruise control, thanks to its suite of 360-degree sensors.
Drivers will be able to control their
vehicle through the 10.25-inch infotainment screen that is compatible with both
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Navigation is handled by a Tom Tom powered GPS
system that can provide drivers with information about things like parking and
charging. Behind the wheel, a seven-inch screen informs the driver about their
speed and more. Prices for the Fiat (600e)RED start at € 35,950 (US$ 39,176)
before incentives, while the 600e La Prima starts at € 40,950 (US$ 44,625) in
Italy. Between now and July 31, customers ordering the new EV will be able to
sign up for Fiat Go-Electric, which entitles them to change their vehicle at
the end of each year and replace it with another that better suits their needs.
