The Lamborghini Urus is changing with the times and adopting updated looks as well as an all-new plug-in hybrid powertrain. Starting on the styling front, the facelifted crossover is instantly recognizable but features new headlights with a revised daytime running light signature. They’re joined by an evolutionary bumper, which has thicker elements as well as new tuning fork-like accents. Additional changes are hard to make out, but it appears the crossover has been equipped with a new liftgate that eschews a license plate recess. While that remains to be seen, we can expect new taillights and a revised bumper.
The modest updates continue in the cabin
as we can see a new dashboard and what appears to be a larger infotainment system.
The latter has new metallic trim on the sides as well as a soft touch bar
beneath the screen, which replaces the current row of buttons. Continuing down,
we can see new switchgear and what appears to be a revamped lower display.
Lamborghini is keeping a number of details
under wraps, but CEO Stephan Winkelmann has previously said the crossover will
arrive next year and be available exclusively with a hybrid powertrain. Little
is known about it at this point, but the powertrain is expected to borrow
heavily from the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid playbook.
As a result, the model could have a
twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, an electric motor, and a roughly 17.9 kWh battery
pack. This could give the Urus a combined output of more than 690 hp, which would be a significant increase over the current rating of 657
hp.
