Ares Modena has unveiled the new Panther Evo, which is an evolution of the earlier Panther ProgettoUno. Billed as a “perfect blend of grit and style,” the car draws inspiration from the De Tomaso Pantera and features an all-new rear end that no longer looks like a hodgepodge of parts.
The changes are extensive and include a
new rear bumper as well as a center-mounted dual exhaust system, which replaces
the previous four tailpipe setup. The license plate recess has also been
eliminated, while the model appears to adopt a ventilated rear fascia. We can also
see new taillights that no longer look like rejects from the GM parts bin.
The changes continue inside the “meticulously
crafted” cabin, which has been outfitted with a two-spoke steering wheel,
revised switchgear, and an infotainment system with a portrait orientation. We
can also see a manual-inspired shifter, which is pretty sneaky as the
seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is said to carryover.
Ares didn’t go into many specifics, but
said the car has carbon fiber body panels, a steel roll cage, and an “aluminum
and carbon fiber hybrid chassis.” Evo reports power is provided by a 5.2-liter
V10 engine producing 641 hp. This reportedly enables the
Huracan-based supercar to rocket from 0-100 km/h in 3.1 seconds,
before hitting a top speed of 325 km/h.
