Ferrari uploaded a new video on YouTube highlighting the one-off KC23. The track-only supercar based on the 488 GT3 Evo was formally introduced in July 2023, but we now get a real-world glimpse after it completed its last leg of development on the track. The video proves that the Ferrari KC23 looks absolutely bonkers even fully wrapped in camouflage. The pop-out aero components, the large removable rear wing, the mirror-replacing cameras, and the prominent diffuser make it look right at home on Ferrari’s test track.
Following the hot laps, we get the Ferrari
engineers starting to unwrap the car. All the exterior panels of the supercar
are completely bespoke, justifying the most likely enormous amount the VIP
customer paid for the supercar. The design is said to preview future
series-production models from Maranello so don’t be surprised if the futuristic
LED bars find their way into the next flagship Ferrari.
The spartan cabin of the KC23 is derived
from the 488 GT3 Evo racecar with small changes, retaining all of the
motorsport-related switches. The same applies to the mid-mounted 3.9-liter
turbocharged V8 engine which sounds very angry, being free from any
noise-suppressing regulations. The Ferrari KC23 is one of the numerous projects
from Ferrari’s Special Projects division. Other examples based on the chassis
of the Ferrari 488 (2015-2019) include the track-only P80/C, as well as the
roadcar-based SP38 Deborah and the limited-production J50.
hile the KC23 is to be enjoyed only on the
track – as proved by its dynamic debut in Goodwood – the model has yet to be
delivered to its owner. Instead, it resides at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello
until October 2, allowing visitors a rare chance to check it out in person.
