Porsche took the wraps off the 2024 Cayenne S E-Hybrid, which it calls the perfect mid-point between the standard E-Hybrid model, and the ultra high-performance Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid. Powered by a combination of Porsche’s 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that makes 348 hp and an electric motor that produces 174 hp the 2024 Cayenne S E-Hybrid has a total system output of 512 hp and 750 Nm of torque.
The electric motor is powered by a 25.9
kWh battery with an 11 kW on-board AC charger that allows the vehicle to be
filled up with electricity in about 2.5 hours on a standard Level 2 charger.
This powertrain provides impressive acceleration to the Cayenne S E-Hybrid. It
can accelerate from a standstill to 96 km/h in just 4.4 seconds and
complete the quarter-mile in 13.0 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds quicker than
the non-hybridized twin-turbocharged Cayenne S.
Porsche
has also equipped the Cayenne S E-Hybrid with its nifty new two-chamber,
two-valve air suspension. The system allows Porsche’s engineers a lot of
flexibility when tuning driving modes, making the comfort and sport modes more
different than ever before. On an aesthetic level, the model comes with 20-inch
Cayenne S wheels and two twin tailpipes at the back that are finished in
brushed stainless steel. It also comes with a silver exterior package as
standard, while the Coupe version gets the black exterior package. Matrix
Design LED headlights with automatic high beams are standard on both variants.
Inside, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid comes with
eight-way adjustable seats, the Sport Chrono package, stainless steel pedal
pads, and the Diamar interior package painted in Silvershade. Drivers also get
access to new functions through Apple CarPlay that allow them to access vehicle
functions through the third-party app. A passenger-side screen is available for
extra convenience.
Now ready to be ordered, the 2024 Cayenne
S E-Hybrid starts at US$ 100,750 (all prices include US$ 1,650 destination charge)
while the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe starts at US$ 105,650. The model will reach
U.S. dealerships in the spring of 2024.
