Nissan revealed the facelifted version of the Rogue in North America (also known as X-Trail in other markets), featuring a slightly redesigned exterior and a technologically updated interior with Google built-in in the new infotainment system. The 2024 Nissan Rogue certainly looks familiar, with the biggest change being the larger grille with vertical chrome slits, joined by redesigned intakes on the front bumper. The split headlights remain unchanged but the taillights benefit from revised LED graphics. The rest of the bodywork is carried over from the outgoing model, although Nissan tweaked the color palette, adding the Everest White Pearl, Deep Ocean Blue Pearl, and Baja Storm shades to freshen up its looks. Furthermore, the flagship Platinum grade received gloss black accents (fenders, side skirts, lower bumper fascias), and a new set of 19-inch wheels.
Moving inside, the highlight is the
addition of Google Built-in on the new infotainment system, a first for a
Nissan product. This allows applications including Google Maps, Google
Assistant, and Google Play to be integrated into the vehicle’s touchscreen
alongside all of the information from your personal Google Account (addresses,
contacts, etc) without the need to pair your Android device. The Google
Built-in feature comes standard in the high-spec SL and Platinum trims
alongside a larger 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital
instrument cluster. Those trims also benefit from wireless Android Auto / Apple
CarPlay connectivity, a wireless charging pad, and 4 USB-C ports. As for the
entry-level S and SV grades, those feature a smaller 8-inch display with wired
Android Auto / Apple CarPlay compatibility.
In terms of safety kit, the entry-level
Rogue S comes standard with the Nissan Safety Shield 360 ADAS suite. The Rogue
SV features the more sophisticated ProPilot Assist, while the high-spec SL and
Platinum grades enrich it with Navi-Link. The richer tech is combined with new
upholstery and trim options, including a darker Chestun brown leather that is
available in the Rogue Platinum.
The 2024 Nissan Rogue is still available
with the same 1.5-liter VC-Turbo petrol engine producing 201 hp and 305 Nm of torque. The turbocharged 4-cylinder unit is
exclusively mated to an Xtronic CVT transmission, sending power to either the
front or to all four wheels depending on the trim. This means that North
America doesn’t get the mild-hybrid and full-hybrid powertrains found under the
bonnet of the Nissan X-Trail in other markets like Europe or Japan.
The first examples of the 2024 Nissan
Rogue will reach US dealers in early 2024, while pricing will be announced
closer to that date. It remains to be seen if the Nissan X-Trail will benefit
from similar visual upgrades sometime in the near future.
