The Blue Innovations Group R30 is almost ready to be shown off to the world, and the American-designed and built electric power boat will launch on December 16. However, deliveries of the boat have been delayed by a few months. The nine-meter, 800 hp boat was first shown off at CES, and the company announced today that it will make its public debut in St. Petersburg, Florida. Blue Innovations Group also said that deliveries of the R30 will start in the third quarter of 2024, not the second, as was initially envisioned.

If they’ve already seen enough, customers can reserve the R30 for US$ 1,000. If they absolutely must be one of the first 100 customers to get the new boat, buyers can also opt for a “BIG Reservation.” This costs US$ 5,000, but will place them at the front of the line to receive their boat when deliveries start.

Equipped with two electric motors that pump out a total of 800 hp, the R30 features a 221 kWh battery pack that’s helped by a roof covered in solar panels. Blue Innovations Group predicts that the boat will be able to operate for up to eight hours, and reach speeds of up to 72 km/h. At nine meters in length, the R30 can accommodate up to 12 people, and it comes with a kitchenette, as well as a “folding ocean terrace” that improves deck space when you’re hosting a party.

An impressive vessel, it will have a pretty big price tag. Blue Innovations Group estimates that the R30 will have a purchase price of US$ 300,000.
