While premiering its Shanhai L9 hybrid SUV, Chinese automaker Jetour has also briefly touched upon its lineup expansion plans. The company wants to design a few new crossover SUVs and a pickup until 2025, AutoHome reports.
First
off, Jetour plans to continue populating its Shanhai family of SUVs. Shortly
after the unveiling of the X-2 model, the company will set to work on its
hybrid counterpart named the Shanhai L6. It will get the same powertrain as the
just-introduced L9, but will pack up to 1,400 km of range thanks to
numerous weight optimizations, the manufacturer says.
An
all-electric Shanhai L6 variant and a range-extender hybrid are also possible,
but not confirmed for production yet. If they do get the green light, it will
not happen until April 2024. As for the other SUV, it will be called the T-L
and be positioned as a more youth-oriented version of the Jetour Traveler. It
will be a full-fledged off-roader and will likely ship with all four driven
wheels. Other than that, though, there are no details yet.
The
brand development strategy also involves releasing an all-electric crossover
named Traveler T-1 until the year 2025, a full-size SUV called the T-3, a
pickup named the P-3 and unspecified models T-2 and L7. There will be no ICE cars
among them, just petrol-electric and battery-electric ones.
