Legend Motor Co., from Utah, has unveiled a gorgeous-looking and painstakingly detailed Defender restomod named the Signature Series 001. The off-roader retained its iconic appearance despite switching to all-new chassis, powertrain and interior.
The base Defender 110 body was put on a
Jeep JK chassis. The whole exterior was trimmed with Kevlar for protection.
Old-fashioned 17-inch steelies slotted into the arches alongside 37-inch mud
tires. A removable soft top replaced the fixed roof and the whole undercarriage
was modernized with Dana 60 HD axles, ARB differentials and PSC steering
components.
A 6.2-liter LT1 V8 from General Motors
slid into the engine bay to drive the wheels with 455 PS and
630 Nm of torque. The tuner points out that the larger LT4
block will also fit, so those who would like more power can opt for that one
and get 650 PS along with 881 Nm.
Luxury and comfort are the priorities
inside, as evidenced by cozy seats wrapped in aniline leather, modern
instrument gauges with a touch of retro, and a Restomod Air climate control on
board. The price and the planned production quantity are unknown.
