Fisker has reached another milestone as the company has begun deliveries of the entry-level Ocean Sport. The first model was handed over to a customer in London and the company says the crossover has a “comprehensive blend of performance, affordability, and outstanding range.” Speaking of which, the Ocean Sport has a 73 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a front-mounted motor developing 275 hp. This setup enables the crossover to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 7.0 seconds and a have an EPA range of 231 miles. In the WLTP cycle, it’s rated at 464 km.
The big news is the price as the Ocean
Sport starts at US$ 38,999 in the United States. That’s US$ 14,000 less than the
all-wheel drive Ocean Ultra and US$ 22,500 less than the luxurious Ocean Extreme.
Despite its entry-level status, the Ocean Sport comes equipped with a power
liftgate, a BigSky panoramic glass roof, and 20-inch wheels. Buyers will also
find a 17.1-inch infotainment system, a digital rearview mirror, and black
EcoFabric upholstery.
In a statement, CEO Henrik Fisker said “We
are thrilled to deliver the Fisker Ocean Sport to its first customer this year.
We are offering an outstanding, affordable vehicle that showcases the design,
innovation, and sustainability that are Fisker’s core brand values. The Ocean
Sport brings the excitement of electric driving to customers while also making
it accessible and versatile.”
That being said, the Fisker Pear aims to
be the value leader as it’s slated to arrive in 2025 with a base price of US$ 29,900 before incentives.
