The unnamed YangWang fastback SUV from BYD was spotted in China. It follows the brand’s distinguishing design language adopted by the U9 sports car and the U7 sedan. According to insiders, it will be officially unveiled this year with an electric powertrain. The official name of the fourth YangWang model wasn’t announced officially. According to several sources, it has two naming options: U7 GT and U6. We at CarNewsChina tend to the U6 variant. However, Chinese naming periodically turns unpredictable. So, we will avoid the usage of a specific name.
The spied YangWang fastback crossover
wears heavy camouflage. Its proportions stay close to such models as Denza N7,
Zeekr 001, and BYD Song L. The front end of YangWang’s fresh EV has the brand’s
distinguishing headlights and a trapeze-shaped air intake. It has traditional
side-view mirrors, retractable door handles, and five-spoke rims. From the
back, the YangWang fastback SUV has a sporty spoiler and a single taillight
unit. On the roof, it has a LiDAR sensor from RoboSense, a BYD-backed hi-tech
company.
Inside, the YangWang’s new car follows the
brand’s design language. Its center panel has three screens. An instrument
cluster and a front passenger screen have a diameter of 23.6 inches. The main
screen has a portrait layout and a diameter of 12.8 inches. The gear selector
of the YangWang fastback SUV sits behind the three-spoke steering wheel. The
center tunnel has two wireless charging pads. The front seats have a sporty
shape with integrated headrests.
The spotted YangWang crossover is BEV with
four electric motors. It stands on the BYD’s e4 platform. Its peak power output
will most likely reach 960 kW (1,287 hp). The YangWang U7 sedan has the same
power output. The YangWang fastback SUV will be revealed this year.
