Lamborghini has shared the first image previewing the upcoming Urus facelift. According to Autoevolution, the soon-to-be-hybrid SUV was featured in a printed publication called the Lamborghini Magazine.
The only teaser pic available thus far
fails to mention that it’s a Urus, but you can figure as much by the design of
its rear end. The accompanying text promises drivers a “more powerful driving
experience” and stronger emotions. The taillights and other minor details look
subtly different, but the overall design stays the same. There’s also the rear
spoiler that we’ve already seen in spy shots before.
For the powertrain, rumor has it that the
new Urus will utilize the same powertrain as the latest Porsche Cayenne. The
current SUV makes do with a 4.0-liter V8 turbocharged to 666 PS and 850 Nm of torque. In contrast, the Cayenne enjoys up to 739
PS along with 950 Nm of torque. It also sprints
0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. Lambo’s refreshed SUV could prove even
faster thanks to a lower curb weight.
Aside from these modifications, the new
Urus will most likely get a reworked interior. It should debut later this year
and stay on sale until 2029 or so, by which time Lamborghini plans to go full-electric.
