By all accounts, the second-generation BMW M2 is a superb sports car to drive and even better than its predecessor. However, the jury is still out on the exterior design with many, including famous car designer Frank Stephenson, extremely critical of its design. That’s where Vorsteiner comes in. The tuner offers dramatic bodykits and styling tweaks for many models and has just unveiled its complete carbon fiber aero program for the M2. It is one of the more dramatic takes on the new sports car that we’ve seen and while we think it looks excellent, it’s certainly not what we would call ‘sexy.’
Modifications start up front with the VRS
carbon fiber aero splitter priced at US$ 1,695. While that’s a lot for a splitter,
it looks superb and gives the car some extra aggression. Vorsteiner has then
crafted a new carbon fiber hood that’ll set back shoppers US$ 4,495 which includes
some air extraction vents to keep everything nice and cool.
The changes continue along the sides where
the BMW rocks carbon fiber vented front fenders and side skirts, sold as a
package for US$ 5,494. Our favorite part of the Vorsteiner package is the new
carbon fiber trunk lid with a pronounced ducktail spoiler and priced at US$ 3,495.
Rounding out the upgrades of this bright orange example is a US$ 2,495 carbon
fiber rear diffuser.
Any BMW M2 owners who opt to have their
cars equipped with the Vorsteiner parts would be wise to select one of the many
forged wheels that the tuner also offers. Not only do these wheels look better
than the standard ones but they can also save weight.
