It has been 15 years since Singer Vehicle Design was founded and the company based out of Los Angeles has just unveiled its 300th Porsche 911 restoration. As with every other car to leave the company’s facility, this one is gorgeous. The 1990 911 Targa, now known as Sotto, started just like any other but when Singer got its hands on it, it immediately removed all of the original bodywork and replaced it with new lightweight carbon fiber panels. These panels have then been painted in Resistance Blue which works beautifully with the classic styling of the 911.
Singer has then fitted a set of five-spoke
Fuchs-style wheels to the car and added a ghosted ‘Porsche’ element running
along the base of the doors. Among our favorite modifications made to the car
include the new fuel filler cap in the center of the hood and the gorgeous wing
mirrors. The car is also rocking a set of carbon ceramic brakes.
Sotto’s original engine has also been
replaced with a 4.0-liter air-cooled flat-six with 390 hp and coupled to a
five-speed manual transmission. This engine revs to 9,000 rpm and thanks to a
titanium exhaust, promises to absolutely scream.
As with any other Singer creation, the
interior of Sotto has also been overhauled. The highlight of the cabin is the
track-focused carbon fiber bucket seats clad in orange leather. The leather
elements continue onto the door panels and parts of the transmission tunnel and
merge beautifully with the interior elements painted in Resistance Blue. A
bright orange tachometer also takes pride of place on the dash.
