In December, LEVC bolded proclaimed it had entered the “space race” with its new L380 electric MPV and has now revealed images of the vehicle’s interior, showcasing the extraordinary amount of space it offers. While it won’t take you into the solar system, the L380 does have the potential to transport occupants in style and comfort. Underpinning the L380 is Geely’s Space Oriented Architecture and it will be sold in both six- and eight-seat configurations. These images show the L380 with six seats, including large captain’s chairs in the second row.
The front of the cabin isn’t particularly
remarkable or unique in its design. Like many other EVs, the dashboard is
dominated by a massive central infotainment display and found in front of the
simple three-spoke steering wheel is a digital instrument cluster. We can also
see the L380 rocks a large storage cubby below the infotainment display as well
as a floating center console housing a simple rotary controller.
The second row looks very plush. Passengers
will have access to screens in the backrests of the front seats and can also
use smartphone-sized displays in the armrests. These seats also offer reclining
functions and adjustable footrests. Other standouts of the cabin include a
panoramic glass panel and ambient lighting in the headlining.
London Electric Vehicle Company is keeping
many important specifications for the L380 under wraps. We know it will be
offered with 73 kWh and 120 kWh battery packs and will likely be powered by a
single electric motor producing 268 hp. The flagship model should be able to
travel up to 695 km on a single charge, an impressive feat for a
vehicle of this size.
Unsurprisingly, the electric MPV will
first launch in the Chinese market with other global markets to follow. Among
the markets that will receive it is the UK, with a promise it’ll arrive locally
within the next two years.
