Rolls-Royce celebrated the recent total solar eclipse with a special version of the Ghost created by its Bespoke Design team. Dubbed the Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis Private Collection, the latest special Rolls-Royce is capped at just 25 units globally, of which just five have been delivered in North America.
The limited-run model was first presented
by Rolls-Royce back in October last year. It served as the highlight for a
recent total solar eclipse viewing event hosted by the British marque in
Niagara, Ontario, Canada.
Making the Ghost Ekleipsis Private
Collection stand out from a regular Ghost is the Lyrical Copper exterior paint,
which includes a powdered copper pigment that shimmers when it catches the
light. Rolls-Royce has also finished some components in Mandarin, including
elements below the Pantheon Grille and the brake calipers. The car also
features the same hue of Mandarin for a hand-painted coachline running down both
sides.
Other special touches have been made to
the car’s interior, including a Bespoke Starlight Headliner with a special
animation mimicking the shape of a total solar eclipse. Additionally, the car
includes an illuminated dashboard fascia with 1,846 laser-etched stars
representing a timeline of a total solar eclipse. There is also a 0.5-carat
diamond.
The special Ghost was presented alongside
the new Spectre at the event in Ontario.
