Geely has unveiled a sportier version of their popular Galaxy L6 compact plug-in hybrid sedan. Spotted in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s recent vehicle announcements, the “Sports Edition” L6 boasts a head-turning design and impressive performance specs. The Sports Edition L6 sheds its standard guise for a more aggressive look. Vibrant orange or light yellow paint options instantly grab attention, while black accents on the bumpers and side skirts add a touch of menace. A fixed rear spoiler completes the sporty aesthetic. The car further emphasizes its performance aspirations with sleek black rims and contrasting red or yellow brake calipers.
The Galaxy L6 Sports Edition isn’t just
about looks. It’s powered by Geely’s next-generation Thor electric hybrid 8848
system. This powerhouse combines a 1.5T hybrid engine with a 3-speed variable
frequency electric drive DHT Pro. The result? A thrilling 0-to-100 km/h acceleration
time of just 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 247 km/h. But performance doesn’t
come at the expense of efficiency. The Sports Edition L6 boasts a pure electric
range of 125 km and a combined driving range of a staggering 1370 km.
Additionally, it delivers an impressive fuel consumption rating of just 4.55
liters per 100 kilometers.
The L6 Sports Edition offers drivers a
variety of driving modes to suit their needs. Choose from pure electric for
emissions-free city driving, extended range for longer journeys, intelligent
mode for a balanced experience, or performance mode to unleash the car’s full
potential. Additionally, the car boasts 20 intelligent driving modes that adapt
to various road conditions.
While official pricing for the Sports Edition
L6 hasn’t been announced yet, the standard Galaxy L6 currently starts at a
competitive 99,800 yuan (limited-time offer) thanks to a recent hybrid series
discount. This positions Geely’s sporty offering as an attractive option for
drivers seeking performance and style without breaking the bank.
